• April 3, 2017: Madison Lucas (2019), Kayla Cobbs (2018), and Miya Crump (2018) travlled to Duncanville this weekend and put on a show for themselves, their families, and the Houston Hoops organization. Coact Taylor heard nothing but good things abou thtese 3 strong young women, and their futures are about to skyrocket through the roof! Scouts and writers were vey impressed. Way to go ladies!!!

  The Lady Hoops Gray Team had some bumps in the road and are still young and coming strong, but will compete in the next up coming tournament in Shooting 4 da cure and have a stronger outing.
• March 20, 2017: This weekend the Lady Hoops performed in a hostile environment being the headliner in the Houston Elite Spring Fling Tournament. The Lady Hoops finished the weekend with a 3-1 record. On Saturday, game one was dominated by the Hoops and pulled out in overtime 44-42 led by Ogechi Nwodo (6'4, Oakridge HS, 2017), with a fadeaway post move at the buzzer. Game 2, the Lady Hoops defeated Houston Elite 51-42, led by Briana Cloud (5'10, Yates HS, 2018). She took it to another level scoring 20pts and blowing by the guards guarding her as if they were not there, also with tenacious defense on Houston Elite's best guard. On Sunday, the Hoops had a tall task against DFW Nike Elite EYBL and handled it very well. With a very physical and intense game, the Hoops prevailed with a 52-50 win with 3 clean three point shots, Kia Cobbs (5'11, Channelview HS, 2017); Tashawnna Riggs (5'10, Channelview HS, 2017); Miya Crump (6'1, Yates HS, 2018) and a hard drive between two defenders, by Tashawnna Riggs to ice the game. Crump had the most impressive 3 ball shot with a hesitation and rise up over 3 defenders coming at her, like a Kobe triple team.

• August 1, 2016: On July 26-27, the Lady Hoops participated in the Texas Classic for the final tournament of the season... they finished 1 - 2. All playing fatigued coming right off the national tournament in new orleans which took place july 23 - 25. Win: Houston Elite: 59-49,

  2 losses to TTP.

• July 26, 2016: The Hoops played in the Basketball on the Bayou tournament July 23-25 in New Orleans, Louisiana for Nationals. We swept pool play with wins against: West Georgia Takover (59-41), Team Dallas (40-38), and TJ Ford Elite (41-17). After sweeping, the ladies lost in the quarter finals because of Ogechi Nwodo fouling out within the last 3 minutes of the game and injuries to Ireneshia Johnson and Miya Crump, aka the big 3. The Lady Hoops were winning the entire game and just didn't have enough fire power to pull out the "W". Lost to Georgia Dream Team (41-37) in the quarter finals.

• July 9, 2016: The Lady Hoops went 5 - 1 this weekend @ the Big State Flava Jam Showcase in Grapevine, TX. Wins against: HK Express (39 - 25), Houston Dream (40-29), Mississippi Lady Hawks (39-38), SA Stars (40 - 35), Lady Warriors (39-35). Lost on a last second put back (40-39) to TX Super Girls.

• June 27, 2016: The Houston Hoops Ladies went 2 -1 over the weekend in the Cyfair Showcase National Warm up. The Hoops got national attention on girlz prep report by Simmie Colson. (Top Houston Girls Basketball)
• June 21, 2016: Congratulations to Deitra Jackson (6'3 Reagan High 2016) on signing with North Platte College.
• June 20, 2016: The Lady Hoops competed this weekend in the 14th annual TJ Showcase in Austin, TX. In game one, the Hoops defeated Top Gun Elite 61-42. For the semi-final, the Hoops had suffered two keys injuries but came out on top playing RFW Austin Elite 61-43. For the third game, the Lady Hoops came up short in a dog fight to the finish against DFW Elite - Nike sponsored. 44 - 48. The Lady Hoops will rise again....
• June 12, 2016: This weekend, we participated in the June Jam, and the Lady Hoops finished in 2nd place. Won Game 1 vs. Monee (57 - 34), and Game 2 vs. Houston Skyrise (47 - 31). In bracket play semi round defeated Houston Skyrise (46 - 25), and came up short in the phenomenal dog fight against a Nike-sponsored Team Texas United. (60 - 64). We played our hearts out!
• May 31, 2016: Congratulations to Colandria Haynes (2016) on signing with McLennan College over the weekend! She is the second senior signed from this team.
• May 29, 2016: The Lady Houston Hoops took first place at tthe Memorial Day Bash in The Woodlands this weekend.They won (46-26) vs Monee Makers , (42-38) vs. Katy Rebels, and (53-21) vs. Arkansas Lady Beast. MVPs of the tournament: 6-Miya Crump, 5-Ireneshia Johnson, 14-Andria Foreman, 12-Mirackle Sallie.
• May 23, 2016: This weekend we played in the I-10 Summer Showcase Battle @ San Jacinto College, for D2, D3, NAIA, JUCO, Colleges. We have a couple of players with recognition nationally. Miya Crump (2018) I used hashtag #EFFORTLESSLY because she simply lets the game come to her and can take over whenever she wants. The offensive tools she possesses at this stage will garner legitimate BCS consideration; she’s long and athletic and plays the passing lane like an All Pro tight end.

 

• May 16, 2016: The team took 2nd place in 4th Annual Crossover Cyfair Showcase Classic. We had wins against Cy Fair Showcase (the city's only sponsored Nike EYBL team in Houston) 50-43, and the Lady Dominators (58-24).
